Millican Dalton Borrowdale walk

This competition is now closed. Keep an eye out for the next one on our competitions page.

If you’re heading to the Lake District this summer, then we’ve got an adventure in store for you!

In the early 1900s’ Millican Dalton, self-styled ‘Professor of Adventure’, chose a cave in Borrowdale Valley as his home. He roamed the valley, canoed to Keswick across Derwentwater on his home built raft, the Rouge Herris and climbed Napes Needle – he earned his title. He inspired many would-be adventurers past and present, including the team at Millican, the Keswick Bag Co.

To recognise the uniqueness of this man, we are joining up with Millican the Keswick Bag Co, to offer the chance to win 1 of 10 places on a guided walk around some of his haunts in Borrowdale.

You will visit the famous cave he lived in during the summer months where you will brew up a fine coffee the old fashioned way. The walk will take in the beautiful scenery around Derwent Water over 5-6 hours and use the Launch to journey along the lake, to our walk start and finish.

Your journey starts from the shop at 9.30am and like Millican, you carry your own lunch.

Answer the competition question and join us on the 27th of August for a trip back in time.
