Event Date: 20 May 2017 - 20 May 2017 Location: George Fisher
Join us and Salomon athlete Ricky Lightfoot, Michael Jones and Annie Conway for a day jam packed with adventure.
We start the day off with a run out in the fells with Salomon-sponsored athlete Ricky Lightfoot. The run is open to runners of all abilities and levels, you don't have to try and beat Ricky!
You will be able to test out Salomon running shoes, jackets and packs. We will also have the Suunto demo pool, featuring the new Suunto Spartan GPS watch. This is a great opportunity to give kit a go and allows you to make up your own mind about it.
The run we have planned is about 8km long and starts off from George Fisher along the shores of Derwentwater to Calf Close Bay. From here we ascend Walla Crag, via Cat Gill. You will be rewarded for the steep climb by breath taking views of Keswick and the local area. For those who haven't had enough uphill there is an additional option to extend the run and bag your second Wainwright of the day, by heading up Bleaberry fell. We will then enjoy the fun descent of Walla Crag back into Keswick.
Back at the shop there will be a goody bag eagerly awaiting you! We are keeping our finger crossed for nice weather! However, if the weather is particularly foul and you do not fancy braving it. Then we will be having an indoors adventure in the evening.
Join us instore for an evening with Ricky Lightfoot and Michael Jones. They will be giving a talk and showing videos about their experiences in the outdoors and all the places that running has taken them. It also offers a great chance to ask any questions you have always wanted to ask a long distance runner. Like what do you eat when you've been running for 20 hours? Or how did you get up Cat Gill so easily today?
Drinks and nibbles will be provided and there is a chance to win great prizes!
You can join us for both events, or just one if you wish. Either way it is going to be a great day with some inspirational people!
Book your place now online, over the phone 017687 72178 or instore. Please note that numbers on this run are limited to a maximum of 40 people and there is space for 60 at the evening talk.
All money raised will go to Fix the Fells.
