Fisher's Favourite - Vanessa Metcalfe

Today's Fisher's Favourite is Vanessa Metcalfe.

Vanessa is the Tourism Manager for Keswick Tourism Association. Vanessa took up the role last year after managing Keswick’s Co-operative Bank for almost 10 years.

Vanessa grew up in Grange-in-Borrowdale and has recently returned there after spells in Rosthwaite and Greystoke. A member of both Keswick Theatre Club and the street theatre group, Vanessa is also a keen runner, a regular participant and volunteer at Keswick parkrun, and a member of Keswick Athletic Club.

"It’s probably one of my favourite pictures that I have ever taken. Just using my phone. I was out running with the Wednesday Girls. It was an October evening and we were treated to the most gorgeous sunset as we headed back towards town from the Castlerigg Stone Circle. For me it sums it up the joy of running."

The wendesday Girls Vanessa mentions above is a social run, organised by Keswick Athletic Club, and in their own words -
"The Wednesday run is a social run for Keswick AC ladies, we aim to run about five miles (sometimes more) with as much talking and laughing as we can fit in! It’s for any level of runner, faster, slower, louder or quieter!"
