Montane Bite 1 trail running belt review

A few months ago I was very lucky to be asked to try out the Montane Bite 1 trail running belt. I always wear either a belt or race pack when out running; it all depends on the distance. The Montane Bite 1 is a very lightweight ergonomic trail running belt, weighing 89 g and featuring a central pocket with a one-litre storage capacity and also with two fast drying stretch mesh side pockets which can store other essentials like gels. It is compatible with the Montane 250ml soft flask and perfect for short to medium distance runs.

What I loved straight away was the striking colour mix, black and yellow with a snazzy design; on wearing the belt I noticed immediately how comfortable and easy it felt on either my waist or hips. It has an elasticated waist belt which has a Velcro fastening, enabling the wearer to obtain a really neat and unique fit making it sit perfectly on your body. Ready to run I was off out on the trails excited to test out this new bit of kit. The belt has great storage capacity, enough to carry my Montane jacket/gloves plus mobile and my key. As I often run with Jess our spaniel, the side pockets store her dog biscuits or our cheese!!

Straight away I just loved it; I loved how comfortable it felt and how secure it was. It fitted great on my hips and never moved. I can carry the essentials that I need but do not feel overburdened and I have worn it solidly for the last few months whether I am out with my club or solo or even when doing my speed and hill rep sessions. My husband David has even tried it out and also agrees that it really is a first class piece of running kit suitable for all runners.

For me, I have never looked back and I will wear this belt for all my runs unless I am running a much longer distance and I need to carry a lot more extra kit. The Montane Bite 1 is extremely comfortable with great storage and also comes in a Red or Blue colour design. For the technical lovers out there it is made with Raptor UL fabric, ensuring maximum durability heightened by Montane’s strong Robic filaments which allow for improved strength to weight ratio and a high level of performance.
It’s really is a keeper and I would not want to be without it, as such an integral part of my running kit.
