Helsport comes from Norway, where it has forged a strong reputation for building reliable, lightweight tents. The models we have chosen fill some niches not already covered by Hilleberg and MSR. The Ringstind 2 is available in either a 'Pro' model for greater strength, or a 'SL' for lighter weight. They offer a single hoop design, ideal as a lightweight two-person tent or roomier for solo use. The Reinsfell Pro is more what you might expect from a Scandinavian tent. A solid, two-person shelter with double doors makes this a good option against the Hilleberg Allak. Finally, the Fonnfjell Trek is a two-person tunnel tent, but unusually with the entrance on the side. With the addition of two short poles this door can be propped open as a large porch, making it ideal for ventilation in warmer weather, or for shelter in wetter conditions.
MSR has a new twist on its existing Hubba NX range. The Hubba Tour series is aimed at cycle touring or bikepacking; the cavernous porch on both the one and two person versions is big enough to store bike(s) whilst leaving room to get in and out. Although aimed at cyclists, these tents will be great for any backpacker who appreciates a porch roomy enough to store a lot of gear. Unlike many other MSR tents these pitch outer first, which is a real advantage for pitching in wet conditions. Our old favourites, the lightweight and versatile Hubba Hubba NX and the incredibly well-priced Elixir 2 are also back in stock.
Hilleberg has updated some of its three season 'Yellow Label' tents with increased ventilation, making them a compelling option for Spring to Autumn camping. The updated tents include the two-door Rogen, and the Anjan 2, their lightest tunnel tent. Hilleberg has also added a four-person version of the Kaitum GT; roomier and better ventilated than a Nallo, but without the weight of a Keron, this is the perfect do-it-all tent for a group or family.
As ever we are happy to pitch any tent we have in stock for you to view in store.
