Kit Reviews for Rab, Lowe Alpine, Stance, Arc'teryx and Haglofs

Rab Mantra Jacket

Very lightweight, ‘rustle-free’ and with a bit of stretch in it, the Mantra will keep you dry in summer showers without getting too hot on the inside. Feels great as a jacket you could wear both on the mountain ‘in anger’, and on the way to the pub in the evening drizzle. Well-fitting, with a great hood and three handy pockets, the Mantra wins because it’s a soft-feel jacket but can still handle ‘the hard stuff’.

Arc’teryx Konseal shoes

These are super comfortable, hug your feet, and have great grip. Whether you’re wearing them all day around your urban playground or taking them for a day in the hills, they can keep up. Easy, smooth lacing system, food underfoot cushioning and extra protection around the sides. We like them because they look really smart!

Stance socks

Our ‘new kids on the block’, and they are super cool! Not only are they a technical sock, designed for any activity from running to hiking to the gym, they are also have very new and exciting designs. Stance socks have a ‘left’ and a ‘right’, and come in different lengths, colours and some really great designs (did we mention that already?) They wick moisture, support your feet, have seamless bits, reinforced bits and technical bits and you guessed it… awesome new designs!

Lowe Alpine Air Zone Z14

This great little pack fits really well, has a hip strap if you need it for faster-moving activities, looks really simple but has lots of hidden features. We particularly love the concealed rain cover; not a new innovation, but a much-appreciated one if you get caught out in a shower. You can get full access to the whole interior with a big zip-entry that runs the full length, and we love the colour; it’s ‘Berry’ and just so tasty!

Haglofs LIM Comp Jacket

This jacket has really got us excited! It looks great and fits like a charm, in a super-lightweight 3-layer fabric but using a 30-denier outer so it's tough too. The GORE-TEX Active membrane really impresses with its breathability, and we’re definitely hard people to please when we’re sweating up a fell!
