Event Date: 20 September 2019 - 20 September 2019 Location: Abraham's Cafe, George Fisher, Keswick
We have been working with Jeanette Moore and Mark Richards to produce a series of Fictional Fell Tales, publishing them in our Quarterly Fishers Magazine. The first in the series was 'Trust Me' followed by the latest 'Fisher's Wife's Rake. These delightful tales are loosely based on the fells we find here in the Lake District. Jeanette, along with illustrator Mark Richards, have provided us with an entertaining and thought provoking new way to look at these areas.

The second fictional story 'Fisher's Wife's Rake' will be published in our Autumn Magazine Issue 108, here is a taste of what's to come and will be shared on the night:
'Her lamp had gone out and blind as a miner in a blackout, she groped her way upwards hoping that the moon would come out one more time and illuminate her path. And when it did she wept. How many times had she come this way? How many times had she trod this path? George needed his bait. A man couldn’t work on an empty belly. Well-taken care of by his wife, every day she had been up that rake with sustenance for him and his help. Meat and bread wrapped in muslin. Fruitcake. Tannin stained stoneware held tea. Her challenge was keeping it hot until she reached the sheep fold. When poured and it steamed, she had done her job and George would nod without a word, but she knew. She knew and she would smile and return.'
Also featured will be 'Rock Face' and Gunshot'!
