Abraham's Tea Round Glory for Natalie, Clare and Elizabeth

A huge congratulations to the latest Abraham's Tea Room Round finishers, Natalie Hawkrigg, Elizabeth Berry and Clare Regan, all of Northern Fells Running Club.

Who on Sunday 29th April, 2018, became not only the first ladies to complete the round but also the fastest finishers to date. Knocking Andrew Martindale (also of Northern Fell Running Club) off the top spot by 8 minutes! Finishing in an impressive time of 10 hours and 18 minutes.

The three ladies set off from the doors of the shop at 5am and were rewarded for the early start with a wonderful sunrise over Derwentwater from Catbells.

Natalie said "We have been wanting to do it for over a year from when we first saw your blog about it, but it's taken us all this time to find a window of opportunity. It was a indeed a real challenge! We missed the path up High Stile so had a nightmare ascent off that. Weather closed in on us over the Coledale fells and it got a bit cold and energy levels were dropping, but we were very pleased to finish in time to have a cup of tea and cake at the cafe."

Well done ladies a fantastic achievement! Well done Northern Fell Running Club for the current domination of our 'little route'.

Who will be next to tackle the gruelling route? For more information about the round visit Abraham's Tea Room Round or pop in to the shop to see the inspiration behind it.
