The Malham is a day hiking boot for hill waking on paths and trails.
The leather is very soft and supple to give excellent comfort with very little ‘walking in required’. The Malham boot is made on the Altberg AForme last which has a narrow heel and waist, the toe of the boot is sprung slightly upwards, so that the boot rolls forward when walking, which enhances comfort and balance on hills and uneven terrain. The boot is very lightweight (672g size 9) and the micro layer between the sole and foot gives excellent shock absorption.

- Width: AForme - a more asymmetric shape of the last. Many of the features are taken from running shoe characteristics, a narrower heel and waist to hold and support the rear of the foot, an increased upwards toe lift (rocker), reduced sideways pressure on the large toe, and a wider forefoot with slightly above medium volume.
- Upper: 1.6-1.8mm Nida Hydro soft supple full grain leather
- Lining: Sympatex® breathable 4 layer lining with military grade waterproof membrane interlayer
- Midsole: Tri-Flex® 2, a combination of medium flex and torsional resistance suitable for lower level trail walking
- Sole: Vibram® Masai and Micro midlayer with a full rubber abrasion resistant rand
- Height: 15.8cm (size 9)
- Footbed: Trek Airgrid Black

Great boots
Altberg ....BEST boots I need not say anymore I have 8 pairs of there boots now my 1st pair are army boots they have been abused on all kind of trails and still going strong as will these new boots in ther life time .and to top it off there british made in Yorkshire

Christmas Present
These boots were sold out with the manufacturer and I was directed via a link to George Fisher. As these are a Christmas present for my son I don't know how comfortable or waterproof etc they are. They do come highly recommended and the speed of delivery was great.

Altberg Malham walking boots.
I visited the Altberg factory at Richmond to be measured, & was given good advice regarding the shape of my feet being compatible with this style. These boots are wider at the front & narrow to the heel ( A Forme) & are very comfortable, the sole at the front is quite upturned which gives quite a roll when walking but I soon got used to that. These boots come in half sizes which is an extra point in their favour.
