Autumn staff pick

What’s new for the Autumn season? Here’s a selection of items that our staff are particularly excited about…

Petzl NAO+ head torch - Jon Wickham

I’ve used the existing NAO for a couple of years and been really impressed with its Reactive Lighting technology which gives you the right light when you need it, automatically. I’m looking forward to the new even brighter NAO+, and using the Petzl MyLight app to customise it via Bluetooth. You can try Petzl head torches on our Run With Ricky this November.

Hydro Flask Wide Mouth Straw Lid - Victoria Kimber

I love my Hydro Flask; I use it on the fells, in the car and at the gym, to keep my drink super cool (or piping hot). I got very excited about the addition of the Straw Lid to my Hydro Flask 32oz Wide Mouth and it hasn’t disappointed me. I find it makes it easier to access my drink, especially in the car or at the gym.

Patagonia Triolet Jacket - Mark Wright

My favourite product this autumn is the Patagonia Triolet. For me, fabric is king, and the moment you zip into the Triolet you’re immediately aware that you’re inside something incredibly protective. At just £300 this 3-layer GORE-TEX shell would be my first choice for Munro bagging and those long, dark Pennine days on Bleaklow and Kinder where there’s just nowhere to hide from the wind and rain.

Leki Women’s Cressida trekking poles - Helena Whone

My Leki trekking poles provide support up and down the hills, saving energy and giving me confidence in slightly tricky situations. But you have to know how to use them properly, to get the best out of them! Mine go everywhere with me.

Icebreaker Oasis Long-Sleeve Crewe Top - Paul Cheshire

I’ve had a couple of these for years, and they are just so easy to pull on and wear. Whether travelling or adding one as an extra, warm layer, or simply grabbing a top and heading for the pub. I’m also tempted by the slightly more technical (& slimmer-fit) zip-neck top in a heavier-weight wool fabric... you can never have too many tops, surely?
