Responsibility

All activities are undertaken at your own risk, Paddle Boarding can be a dangerous activity which involve risk and potential injury or death.

When paddle boarding on Derwent Water please be aware of the launch and the waves it causes. Do not land on Derwent Isle or use the paddle board on rivers.

Young persons under 18 years of age will only be issued with a Paddle Board when accompanied by a parent or guardian, the Hire customer undertakes to make any minors in their charge aware of these terms and conditions of hire

George Fisher will not be held liable for any loss or injury caused to the Hirer(s) or third parties

You are responsible for your own personal safety and the safety of your own property

George Fisher and its employees and agents exclude all liability (whether statutory or otherwise) for any loss, damage or injury caused to you or your property, arising from any cause whatsoever. Including, but not limited to, the negligence of the Company, its employees or agents, whilst you are using the equipment hired under this agreement. This exclusion of liability does not affect your statutory rights

If hiring on the behalf of others, you should ensure that all members of your group are aware of the Terms and Conditions of Hire and your personal liability

Our hire Equipment is for use on Derwent Water only to help stop the spread of invasive plants and animals in our waters! Find out more

Safety

Buoyancy aids and leashes are provided with all paddle boards and we strongly advise their use at all times

Paddle boarding is a physical activity; if you are concerned about your health then you should consult you GP before participating

Equipment Hire

The paddle board(s) and equipment on hire remains the property of George Fisher. The Hirer will not sell, rehire, lend or part with the paddle board(s) and equipment

The Hirer assumes complete responsibility for loss or damage to the hire equipment (other than fair wear and tear) from the time the equipment leaves George Fisher premises until it is returned.

If hiring multiple paddle board(s), you are responsible for all the paddle board(s)

George Fisher shall not be liable for any damage caused or loss made whatsoever by breakdown or other defects in the paddle board(s) beyond the control of George Fisher

The Hirer is responsible for all costs, claims and demands which arise directly or indirectly out of the use of the paddle board during the period of hire

In the event of the paddle board or equipment being damaged, lost or stolen, George Fisher reserves the right to recover the cost for repairs or the replacement value of the paddle board(s) and equipment from the Hirer. Full RRP will be charged for paddle boards and equipment that are not returned.

The Hirer will notify George Fisher, upon the return of the paddle board(s), of any loss or breakdown of the paddle boards(s), other than those reasonably repairable by the Hirer

Photographic ID

Photographic proof of identification must be provided in the form of Photo driving licence or passport. This must match that of the card used to make payment. No hire can be allowed if this is not adhered to.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

If the Hirer cancels their booking up to 48hrs before the hire they will receive a full refund of their payment

If the Hirer cancels their booking less than 48hrs before the hire they will not receive a refund of their payment

If the Hirer does not turn up for their booking at all they will not receive any refund of their payment.

No refunds or reductions will be given for any hire equipment that is returned early for any reason.

All equipment must be returned to the agreed collection point at the correct time

George Fisher reserve the right to charge an additional fee for late returns for each paddle board.

All paddle board(s) and equipment are thoroughly checked after each hire, and any damage found will be charged to the Hirer

George Fisher shall be entitled to cancel your booking at any time. In the event that George Fisher decides to cancel your booking it shall use its reasonable endeavours to notify you as soon as possible. You shall be entitled to a full refund in the event of cancellation under this clause but no other compensation shall be payable.

Data protection Storage of Information

We will keep your personal information for as long as we need it to provide our products and/or services to you. If you think any information is inaccurate then please contact us to let us know

You are entitled under the Data Protection Act 2018 to a copy of the personal information that we hold about you if you apply to us in writing.

Sharing of Information

Our customers and their information are important to George Fisher Ltd, and it is not our policy to sell their information to third parties. We do employ service companies to fulfil some of our operational functions; some of these companies may be given access to customer information in order to perform their functions. They will not use the information for any other purpose. Examples of when we would use other companies would be for delivery of an order or processing a credit card payment. Apart from this we will not share or transfer any personal information with any other third party unless we are required to do so by law
