Fisher's Favourites - Clive Allen

Monday Morning and for today's Fisher Favourite we introduce Clive Allen.

A marketeer for over 20 years, Clive headed the global marketing team at the outdoor company Lowe Alpine, being responsible for their highly successful international promotions. In 2004 Clive founded his own marketing communications agency, Ascent Marketing, working with many large and high profile outdoor companies, including George Fisher! Within this, Clive has been the editor of our quarterly magazine, The Update, since Issue 58 in Spring 2007.

An obsessive climber, he’s now also got into fell-running; “I can’t figure out why but it’s very rewarding in a masochistic sort of way”, he was once quoted.

"No quite what you’d expect, but this image of Skiddaw summit sums up winter training for an attempt on the Bob Graham Round. Skiddaw is part of Leg 1, the first section of the BGR, and every time I was on it during training the weather was appalling. Yet at 1:20am on 19th May, the day of my attempt, it was perfect; cool, no breeze, and perfect visibility. And a long day later I was back in Keswick, BGR achieved in 23 hours 44 minutes.
