Sunday 17th September, and for Today's Fisher's Favourite we have Mark Richards.

Today's Fisher's Favourite is Mark Richards.

Mark Richards is a former farmer from the Cotswolds, in 1973, with the direct encouragement of Alfred Wainwright with whom Mark regularly spent weekends, he wrote his first walking guide to the Cotswold Way. Since then Mark has written and published numerous walking guides to rural Britain.

Mark's latest work in progress is an update to his popular Lakeland Fellranger series of books, refreshing the content, and reducing the size of the books to make them pocket sized, and more user friendly. With Mark's experience and thorough approach to his work, we have no doubt these will be worth seeking out once finished.

"All those years diligently put into preparing the original eight volume LAKELAND FELLRANGER series for Cicerone are about to be rekindled as I am embark on a new generation of the work, serving the aspirations and needs of the modern fell walker. Just like George Fisher never out of step with the needs of the outdoor adventurer in each one of us. I have great memories of the tussles with scree and rank heather in researching Skiddaw Little Man."
