This is a "mid-weight" gilet, smooth but not glossy on the outside, and fleece-like inside. I wanted a light, non-puffy gilet which was not too warm, and this fits the bill very well. Build quality seems great as does the material. Not an arctic expedition garment, but excellent for a cool day walking the dogs or playing golf.
