Unfortunately, after extensive use and adventures, waterproof garments like shell jackets or trousers do begin to lose their water-repellency effectiveness after a while. This is because the layer of DWR (Durable Water Repellant) that the garment begins its life with you gets washed away with use. You can top up that layer with this spray that restores the performance of your garment to its original effectiveness and it is free from environmentally harmful PFCs that some DWRs are made with.
