The wasdale Show and Fell Race

October 19th was the day of the Annual Wasdale Show. It is one of the smaller yet classic agricultural shows of Cumbria and one that is full of character.

Part of the organised events from the field is the classic Lakeland fell race . . . up to the top and back down the relentlessly steep nose of Kirk Fell from the show ground below . . . 1.75 miles and 2000+ feet of ascent. How long would it take you ? The winners did it in just over 35 minutes !

While you're there look in on the craftys, the sheep judging, the vintage cars, the dog show and the terrier racing ! A full day our at the head of the Wasdale Valley.
