The Keld is one of Altbergs ‘GFit’ range of boots made specifically for feet which are wider or above average volume.
The boot is made of top quality Nubuck full grain leather which will adapt to the foot. Keld is a classic 2-3 season British hiking boot designed for lower level Lakeland and Scottish Fells. The Vibram sole gives excellent support and torsional resistance for use on rough terrain.

- Width: GFit - Volume and width of this last is much higher than average, especially around the forefoot. The footshape is asymmetric and the heel is a medium size, to keep heel support good and snug. Reduced sideways pressure on the large toe, and a wider forefoot with slightly above medium volume.

A perfect fit, supportive and comfortable.
I bought these for a gift for my daughter. She put them on today, straight from the box and walked for 5 hours. The verdict was that they were the most comfortable, supportive walking boots she has ever owned. Her feet were completely free of any rubbing or foot fatigue at the end of her walk. These boots are made for a wider than average foot shape with plenty of room in the toe box, something which is difficult to find in a women’s boot or shoe. I would highly recommend these boots.

Keld g fit
I have wide feet and struggle to get boots that fit the keld G fit sorted my problem out, had my first pair for 6 months now , I have now purchased a second pair as I am so confident in this boot . Hopefully 2 pair of boots should last me for a good few years to come.

Outstanding quality and comfort.
Bought these mail order following a fitting at Altberg factory in Richmond. Superb boots, build quality and comfort are very good indeed. Comfortable from the first wear, I'll probably look to upgrade the footbed at some point.

Comfort at last!
No pun intended! These boots are made to a genuinely wide last and are the first I've ever owned that were comfortable from the moment I put them on. Very well made, too - as one would expect at the price. Finally, can't fault the service from George Fisher; arrived the day after ordering, even though I hadn't paid for express delivery. Only slight issue was that the footbed was missing from the left boot; luckily not a problem as I had also ordered Superfeet Green insoles to replace the rather thin ones supplied by Altberg.
